I'm Chad Trent, the glass artist behind Cosmo Glassworks in Roanoke, Virginia. I've been blowing glass since 2000, and what began as a fascination with the material has grown into more than two decades of exploring color, movement, heat, and form. I still enjoy the part of the process that can't be completely planned—the way molten glass responds in the moment and gives every finished piece its own character.
My work is made one piece at a time, with an emphasis on small-scale glass art that feels personal and distinctive. I enjoy combining color and pattern in ways that reveal something new from different angles or in different light. Whether a piece is worn, displayed, or given as a gift, I want it to have the unmistakable feel of something made by hand rather than produced by the thousands.
