I am proud to announce that I have been selected to be an Artist in Residence at Hot Taffy Glass in Rocky Mount, VA. I will be teaching classes and giving live demonstrations there. Sign up for my newsletter at the bottom of the page to receive the latest updates on classes. Be sure to visit their page for more information as well.
I have been teaching classes in working with glass for close to 10 years now. I teach both private and group classes. Both in my studio and traveling to other studios. I am working on setting up a schedule for 2018, but if you would like to schedule a class please contact me. Click here for a list of the classes I currently teach.
I also offer lessons via Skype/Facetime. These are more “consulting” sessions than teaching sessions however. They are primarily used to help glass workers with any issues they may be having. I do these in half hour or hour sessions scheduled at your convenience. Contact me for more information.
In addition to teaching classes in person, I also offer classes in video format. These classes are perfect if you can’t travel to a class. You can watch them at your own pace (and re-watch them as often as you like). Once you sign up for the classes they are yours indefinitely.
Please note that these classes are not “beginner” classes, as they don’t cover shop setup, safety, etc. They are intended for someone who has a little experience working with glass. If you are unsure about your ability level, please feel free to contact me and we can talk about it and I can suggest a place for you to start.
Borosilicate Pendants for Flameworkers 1
This class is where I suggest most students start. It will get you used to working with borosilicate glass and help you learn the basic techniques involved in making pendants.
Borosilicate Pendants for Flameworkers 2
This class takes your pendant skills to the next level by using multiple techniques and introducing you to using hollow tubes in addition to solid rods of glass.
Marble Techniques for Flameworkers
This is my most advanced video class. You will learn to make marbles and get comfortable working with larger amounts of glass.
